Chattanooga

We decided it would be fun to take the kids to the Chattanooga aquarium
Nic inside with the piranha.
Jordan with his turn with the fish.
While we were there they brought several animals and things out so the kids could learn about them and see them.  They got to see a tarantula up close and personal.
They love to see them feed the fish.  After they were done the diver came and gave he kids knuckles.
Constance got a butterfly to land on her finger -- Nic got to hold it too.  He was so excited.

My kids at the penguin exhibit.
Nic loved the sharks and watching them swim around.

Birthday cake

I learned there is a right and wrong way to decorate cakes.
I took my little cake and turned it upside down and dipped it into the m&ms.  Nic told me that is did it wrong.
Evidently we are supposed to put them on one by one -- like Nic did with his.
Constance did her initials.
Couldn't resist this toothless, frosting covered grin.

Bubble fun

With the cold temps this winter we decided to experiment with bubbles ...

It was really windy so we were lucky to get the one's we got. Kind of hoping it will get cold enough to try it again.  The kids loved it.

5 yr old and a camera

Nic got my phone and found the camera ... These are the results

I just can't win

The discussion started about names and Nic was asking if they were in the scriptures.  Benjamin? Yes. Noah? Yes. Samuel? Yes. The river Jordan is too.  Nic promptly asked is Dominic?  Nope.  And the tears started to fall.  I tried to tell him his middle name was but that did no good.  Grandpa talked to him and told him his name wasn't in the scriptures either and asked Nic if they should go kick rocks.  Nic immediately smiled and headed to the door.  Jordan perked up even more and asked if  he could come kick rocks too and was told no because his name is in the scriptures.  And the tears started.

Prayer time

Last night as we were trying to get the kids in bed ... Doing our normal routine of prayers and such.  It was Jordan's turn to pray... It started out fine... Next thing we know Jordan gets tickled about something and starts giggling and can't stop.  I end up saying the prayers because Jordan can't calm down, sit still, etc ... Mike told him he could practice how we are supposed to act while praying since he couldn't sit still and was acting up.
After we prayed and were singing and tucking the boys in bed I started talking to Jordan about prayers ... He burst into tears and started saying he was a "bad boy today".  I looked at him and asked if he had gotten in trouble at school or something.  He told me no.  I looked at him and told him he wasn't a bad boy and told him he just wasn't making a good choice during prayers and also told him mommy makes mistakes and asked him if he still loved me -- he said yes.  I reminded him that even if he makes a mistake we still love him.
I started to talk about how when we are praying we are talking to our Heavenly Father and immediately Jordan bursts I to tears and dramatically cries "Heavenly Father is mad at me!"  I again had to remind him that we all makes choices that we shouldn't and that like mommy and daddy still love each of them ... Heavenly Father still loves us.
It made me laugh ... I was not expecting the response from him.

Let the embarrassment begin

I came in and told Constance I was ready to take her to school.  She took one look at me and begged me to change.  I asked her if she didn't like my pretty socks -- she told me they were fine as long as no one could see them.  The boys promptly told me my socks were beautiful and they were going to tell everyone about them.
I went and changed ... Like the good mommy that I am and when we were pulling out o the drive propped my foot up and pulled my pant leg up.  Constance was definitely not impressed.
