Jordan
Today I am so thankful for our handsome little boy and the joy, laughter, and tears he has brought to our lives in the past 4 years. I am so thankful for a birth mother, who loved her little boy so much she was willing to entrust him to our care when she knew she couldn't give him what he needed.
Jordan has been waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for his birthday. For months now he has been asking when it would be his birthday. With no concept of time, he has had a struggle and at times has gotten a bit frustrated.
This morning when I started singing "It's your birthday, shout hooray, you are the birthday boy today" He was soooo excited. He asked me again if it was his birthday today and when I told him yes. He started jumping up and down and shouting. All day long he has gone through the house singing "Happy Birthday to me" or "Happy Birthday to Jordan".
He asked me if he was going to have a birthday cake. I told him yes and his one request was that it was blue. Yes he got a blue birthday cake. He was asking to eat it this morning before it was even baked. I told him he would have to wait until after church.
He asked me if he had a birthday present. I told him yes and again he would have to wait until after church.
After church while we were waiting for family to show up, Jordan was in tears because Grandma and Grandpa Sandstrom hadn't shown up yet. I had to call them so he could talk to them and they could tell him: yes they were still coming and would be there shortly.
I had to keep moving his cake because he kept sneaking some.
