Dandelions

The weather has been so beautiful lately. We usually spend time each afternoon outside. The kids absolutely love it. When it is time to go inside ... I usually have two boys get very upset.

Dominic is such a content little boy. He just walks from place to place and plays. He has discovered sticks and you can usually find him carrying at least one around all the time. He has also discovered my daylilys ... unfortunately he likes to pull the leaves off of the plants. We are trying to discourage that.

The other afternoon I watched him sit along the side of the house and just play in a patch of dandelions. He would grab the stems and just pull them apart. I don't know how long he sat there but I enjoyed watching him.

Both Jordan and Dominic have loved spreading the seeds around. I am sure my neighbors don't get nearly as much pleasure out of it as my boys have especially when they watch the fruits of my boys labor appear in their yards.

Oh where, oh where has my little girl gone ...

Constance has been wanting to get her ears pierced for a long time. We have told her when she turns 8, then she could get her ears pierced if she wanted to.
You have to understand, Constance hates needles to the point of Mike has to go when she gets shots to help hold her still. I have been very open with her about how they do it ... I wanted to make sure she was ready.
She has been getting more excited as her birthday approaches (April). She keeps reminding me that we need to start buying earrings.
We just had spring break ... Mike and I were talking and decided it would be a good time to get them done. Constance was thrilled.

We went to a friend's store and she talked Constance through everything she was doing. The first ear went well. Constance pointed out that it hurt ... bless her heart. The second ear ... she was not looking forward too at all. She had a tight grip on Mike's hand and she was crying but she held so still. She did great!
It has been fun to watch her since. Before I couldn't get her to tuck her hair behind her ears ... now, you can't stop her. She likes how it looks with her ears pierced. It is fun to watch the change.

And He's Off ...

Crawling ... oh no, not anymore.
Dominic has decided he needs to keep up and crawling just isn't doing it. He is walking as much as possible.
The problem is he seems to think he needs to walk all the time and then he should be able to go where he wants to go. Just a bit of a problem with that ... he doesn't want to come inside.
He thinks he should be able to wonder around outside as much as he wants. He tries to keep up with Jordan ... he just doesn't quite have the speed Jordan has. But he sure does try. He is getting faster each and every day.

A Hat

There is something about Daddy's hat!

It is funny to watch ... both Jordan and Dominic see one of Mike's hats and they both seem to think they need it. We had to get another out because they started to "fight" over the one. They are still learning the concept of sharing.Dominic doesn't leave the hat on ... he just wants to have one too.Jordan on the other hand ... likes to wear it and then he also likes to look at himself in the mirror.

Twin Tornadoes

I was emptying the dishwasher ... I have to hurry because I have two little helpers. They come quick when they hear me messing with dishes. Dominic is moving a little faster now too since he is walking. I got the sharp knives put away before Jordan and Dominic got there ... the rest of the silverware ... not so lucky. Nic got hold of a couple of spoons and of course they went right to his little mouth ... guess they will go back in the dishwasher. Jordan was pretty good ... he at least put the silverware in the right drawer ... Just a little straightening up to do afterwards.

Dominic got the trashcan lid off and left it on the floor ... at least he didn't get the trash can emptied.

Dominic also managed to help me by emptying the laundry basket of the dirty laundry and proceeded to spread it around the house.

Jordan managed to dump his toy box onto his bedroom floor ... at least most of the toys remained in his room instead of being scattered all through the house ... and he was pretty good about helping clean them up.

Last but not least ... Dominic always manages to empty the books off of the kid's shelf ... and they do get scattered everywhere.

Tornado clean up began after my twin tornadoes went to bed. My house is clean at least for the night. Tomorrow ... outlook not so good.

Snowmen

These are the 3 snowmen we were able to build back in 2006. Obviously, we didn't have very much snow!
This year, with the snow we got, Constance started off wanting to make 3 snowmen like we had before (only bigger). She ended up changing her mind. We ended up making our family. The amazing thing ... we didn't even use all the snow in our front yard building the snowmen.


We invited our friends from down the street to come and have some fun with us. Tony brought his girls over with their sleds and ended up pulling the kids all over!

Snowflakes

The first time we actually had snow falling this year ... Constance was so excited. Jordan quickly caught on to excitement.
On a previous occasion they had called for snow at first they were calling for at least 6 inches ... then it went to 3 inches and then 1 inch ... we were so disappointed when all we had was a dusting of snow.
So here we were with another prediction of snow and they are saying we are going to have up to 6 inches. They cancelled school based on the predictions ... we were so excited to see the snow coming down. Constance couldn't wait to get her coat and stuff on and go outside. I bundled Jordan up too and let him come outside for a little while.
Constance showed Jordan how to catch snowflakes.

As the snow started to accumulate ... she even showed him how to eat snow. She did tell him not to eat yellow snow ... which meant absolutely nothing to him. Thankfully Jordan wasn't too interested in eating the snow ... so I didn't have to worry about color. He quickly caught on to throwing snow and Constance and Jordan had fun chasing each other all over the yard throwing snow at each other.
It was fun! The only thing missing was Mike ... he was at work until the next morning.
